Just finished my latest mosaic, representing the cycle of life. The birth from the soil, the new growth, then returning back to the soil.

Sundays Child
Just put the final touches to the cover of my first children's book, 'Sundays Child.....'. It is a collection of seven books, that I have based on the lessons my son taught me as a child. Each one has brought back these great lessons that show us the wisdom in the innocence of children.

Feeling motivated and ready to start the third painting from the French Collection. I love waking up in the morning and the first thing that springs to mind is a new design!
Also today I am going to start organising a Blog for a good friends Publishing Site 'Dragon Farm Publishing'. It is an excellent Publishing company that is interested in new and 'different' authors; often ones that mainstream publishing companies won't touch.

Just got my son, Michael to take some more photos on his IPOD, quality of the photos is not great; poor detail, but great colours!
Time to add some art work!
Here is a collection of different designs and styles that I have worked with over the years; ones that I have loved, and reflect the internal conflict that art has highlighted to me.
At art school over 20 years ago, my style was challenging, free and often abstract. But negative criticism from friends and family...'you will never make a good living as an artist', 'your work is too weird' ..etc made me doubt my desire to live the life of an artist. Resulting in me ceremonially burning all my art work and equipment.
I never picked up a paint brush again until I was pregnant with my son, as I wanted to create a nursery full of art and creativity. Then as motherhood took over my life, once again my creative side seemed lost forever. Until I moved to Australia in 2006 and met some beautiful inspiring friends.
My first work was very restrained, and reflected my engrained ideas that art needed to be painted within the lines....;but as my confidence has developed and my creative joys more abundant my style has changed and evolved.
More to follow...

I have set the commitment, and have decided that I need to listen to the constant whispers from my creature spirit. When I am creating I feel alive, passionate, invigorated and enthused. So why have I ignored this part of me for so long, Why have I got to age 42 before acknowledging that art is what keeps me awake at night; it is my passion!
Inspired by the book 'Taking Flight' by Kelly Rae Roberts, I have made my commitment to take daily steps towards my goal of living a soulful creative life. Facing my fears and put my art work out into the public!

The start of my commitment to live a creative and full filling life!
